In case public line is used as communication media in a measuring system with remote power controller, because ordinary modem always consumes power of more than 10 times larger than that of instrument, the whole system can not save power. The BRU-1A is installed into the exclusive slot of remote power controller (RPC-1B/05B)and gets the modem switched on when receiving a call and off when hanging up. The use of BRU-1A makes it possible to save power consumption even using ordinary modem.
